Participation in Non-Sanctioned Dog Shows

Recognition of Dog Shows

The Kennel Club of Pakistan (KCP) recognizes only those dog shows and canine events that have been officially sanctioned or authorized by KCP. Participation in unauthorized events undermines the integrity of the national registry system and is contrary to the objectives of the Kennel Club of Pakistan.

Penalty for Participation in Non-Sanctioned Shows

If a dog is entered in or participates in a dog show that has not been sanctioned or authorized by KCP, disciplinary action may be taken in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Kennel Club of Pakistan. Such action may include:

  • Deregistration of the dog from KCP records.
  • Disqualification of the dog from participation in future KCP-sanctioned events.
  • Refusal of registration of progeny produced by the dog.
  • Suspension or withdrawal of privileges granted to the owner, breeder, handler, or any other person involved.
  • Any other action deemed appropriate by the KCP Managing Committee or Disciplinary Committee.

Responsibility of Owners and Exhibitors

It is the responsibility of every owner, breeder, handler, and exhibitor to ensure that any event in which they participate has been officially sanctioned or recognized by the Kennel Club of Pakistan. The fact that a show has been advertised, promoted, or organized by a third party shall not exempt any participant from compliance with this requirement.

Protection of the Registry

KCP maintains a single national registry for purebred dogs in Pakistan and is committed to protecting the integrity of pedigree records, breeding programs, and canine events conducted under its authority. Participation in KCP-sanctioned events helps ensure that dogs are evaluated, recorded, and recognized under internationally accepted standards and regulations.

Final Authority

The interpretation and enforcement of this policy shall rest solely with the Kennel Club of Pakistan, whose decision shall be final and binding, subject to any appeal procedures provided under the KCP Rules and Regulations.
