Why register your kennel name with the FCI?

An FCI-registered kennel name:

• Receives international recognition and protection.
• Prevents duplication of your kennel name in other FCI member countries.
• Enhances the reputation and identity of the breeder.
• Provides long-term protection of your kennel prefix.
• Supports the integrity of pedigree and breeding records.

Application Process

1. 1Be a current member of the Kennel Club of Pakistan.
2. 2Hold — or simultaneously apply for — a KCP kennel prefix.
3. 3Provide three preferred kennel name options, in order of preference.
4. 4KCP submits the application to the FCI for international registration.
5. 5Once approved by the FCI, the kennel name receives international protection.

Important Notes

• Three name options are required, as your preferred name may already be registered by another breeder in the FCI system. If your first choice is unavailable, the next available option is processed.
• KCP coordinates all correspondence and formalities with the FCI on your behalf.
• Processing times depend on FCI procedures and may vary.

Fees

A kennel name must first be registered with the Kennel Club of Pakistan at PKR 20,500. It may then additionally be registered with the FCI for a further PKR 10,000, giving a total of PKR 30,500 where international registration is required. The FCI fee is not an alternative to the KCP fee.
