About KCP

Affiliated Clubs

The Kennel Club of Pakistan recognises the important role of affiliated breed clubs in promoting individual breeds, encouraging responsible breeding, organising breed activities and improving the overall standard of purebred dogs in Pakistan. Three breed clubs are currently affiliated with KCP, and each operates in accordance with the Constitution, Rules and Regulations of the Club.

GSDCP

The German Shepherd Dog Club of Pakistan is an affiliated breed club of the Kennel Club of Pakistan, dedicated to the preservation and improvement of the German Shepherd Dog. Its events are conducted under KCP authority and in accordance with the official FCI Breed Standard for the breed.

GSDCP conducts German Shepherd Specialty Shows in three formats — the Ortsgruppe (OG) Show at local level, the Landesgruppe (LG) Show at regional level, and the Sieger Show, the club's premier event. These use a specialised grading system in place of the CAC and CACIB awards of an ordinary championship show, with Stock Coat and Long Stock Coat always judged separately.

Under KCP authority

  • Conducts OG, LG and Sieger Shows under the prior approval of KCP.
  • Authorised to invite and appoint judges independently for its German Shepherd events, subject to KCP approval of each event.
  • Holds limited delegated authority from KCP to process Litter Registration, Imported German Shepherd Dog Registration and Single Generation Registration for the breed.
  • Receives batches of official KP registration numbers from KCP in advance, and remains fully accountable for every number issued.
  • Submits complete official results and registration data to KCP for permanent recording in the national registry.

PRC

The Pakistan Rottweiler Club is an affiliated breed club of the Kennel Club of Pakistan, working to preserve and improve the Rottweiler through responsible breeding, education and properly regulated events.

Its principal event is the PRC Sieger Show — the highest-level specialty conformation event for the breed in Pakistan, conducted under KCP authority and the official FCI Breed Standard. Unlike an ordinary championship show, it includes breed-specific evaluations such as height measurement and a gunshot temperament test, both of which become part of a dog's permanent record.

Under KCP authority

  • Conducts the PRC Sieger Show under the prior approval of KCP.
  • Awards the Sieger, Siegerin, Reserve Sieger and Reserve Siegerin titles where the quality of the exhibits justifies them.
  • Records height measurements and gunshot temperament test results into the KCP Registry.
  • Results count towards Pakistan Champion, Grand Champion and the official KCP Points System.
  • Breed Surveys for the Rottweiler are conducted under the KCP Breed Survey Regulations.

Gundog Club of Pakistan

GDCP

The Gundog Club of Pakistan is an affiliated breed club of the Kennel Club of Pakistan, representing the gundog breeds of FCI Groups 7 and 8 — the pointing dogs, retrievers, flushing dogs and water dogs.

The club has organised the KCP Cup Match for many years, and the format has become a popular feature of KCP activities. It is a friendly single-elimination competition in which dogs of different breeds, ages and sexes are paired by random draw, run to encourage participation, fellowship and sportsmanship among members rather than to award championship titles.

Under KCP authority

  • Organises the KCP Cup Match, a long-standing fixture in the KCP calendar.
  • Promotes the gundog breeds of FCI Groups 7 and 8 within Pakistan.
  • All official events are held with the prior approval of KCP, and results are submitted for the national record.

The relationship between KCP and its affiliated breed clubs — eligibility, elections, judges, shows, registration authority, financial accountability and compliance — is set out in full in the Club’s published regulations.
