Official Notice — Regulations for Affiliated Breed Clubs

The regulations governing KCP's affiliated breed clubs — governance, judges, shows and reporting, KCP's role as the central national registry, and the delegated registration authority held by GSDCP.

KCP recognises the role of affiliated breed clubs in promoting individual breeds, encouraging responsible breeding, organising breed activities and raising the standard of purebred dogs in Pakistan. These regulations define the relationship between KCP and its affiliated clubs. All clubs operate in accordance with the Constitution, Rules and Regulations of the Kennel Club of Pakistan.

KCP as the central registry

KCP maintains the central national registry for purebred dogs registered under the KCP system — dog registrations, pedigrees, ownership transfers, litters, breeding records, kennel names, show results, awards and titles. Affiliated clubs provide KCP with the information needed to keep that registry complete and accurate.

Kennel names and prefixes

All kennel names, kennel prefixes and affixes are registered with KCP only. Affiliated breed clubs do not issue or register kennel prefixes independently.

Delegated registration authority — GSDCP

The German Shepherd Dog Club of Pakistan holds limited delegated authority from KCP to process certain German Shepherd Dog registrations: litter registrations, imported German Shepherd registrations, and single-generation registrations.

KCP issues batches of official KP registration numbers to GSDCP in advance. GSDCP maintains full accountability for every KP number issued — used, unused and cancelled — and submits registration data and supporting documents to KCP in the prescribed format. The permanent national record of these registrations is maintained by KCP, which reserves the right to inspect, verify or audit any registration processed under this authority.

Judges, shows and reporting

Clubs submit their approved and proposed judges to KCP for assessment and recognition, and obtain KCP approval before confirming judging appointments. All events are held with the prior approval of KCP, and complete official results are submitted to KCP for the national database and the dogs’ permanent records.

Governance

Clubs hold elections every three years under their own constitutions, maintain their own official bank accounts, submit their approved fee structures to KCP, and keep accurate records of their activities.
