About
Kathy Moores Kathy acquired her first show dog, a Welsh Springer Spaniel, in 1980 and bred her first litter in 1982. In 1983, she acquired a Brittany from the second litter to be born in the UK and from then onwards has bred, shown, Field Trialled and worked both breeds with a considerable amount of success, making up Champions in both breeds. Kathy started judging in 1987 and was honoured to be chosen to award the first ever set of Challenge Certificates to Brittanys at Crufts in 1997. She has since judged at Crufts four times giving CCs in Irish Water Span- iels, Welsh Springers, Irish Red & White Setters and this year she had the huge honour to judge the Gundog Group at Crufts. She is passed to award Challenge Certificates to every Gundog breed plus Manchester Terriers, Kooikerhondje and Shar Pei. Kathy has judged in many European countries including at the World Show in Helsinki in 2014, the French Championship in 2021 and also in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Last year she had the honour of judging at the Club D'Epagneul Breton's (French Brittany Club) Championship show. She was a Secondary school science teacher for 12 years and she has carried her interest in education into the world of dogs. Kathy has been a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer in Conformation and Movement since 1999 delivering lectures and seminars to aspiring judges. In her professional business life, Kathy was owner and Managing Director of Fosse Data Systems, the dog show printing services company, for thirty years from1994.
