A Breed Survey is an advanced evaluation to identify dogs of outstanding breeding quality and assist breeders in making informed decisions. Unlike a conformation show, it evaluates each dog individually against the breed standard and breed-specific requirements.
Results become a permanent part of the dog's official KCP record. Breed Surveys are currently conducted primarily for the German Shepherd Dog and Rottweiler, with the system designed to support additional breeds in future.
Procedure
- Identity Verification → Measurement → Dentition → Anatomical Evaluation → Movement → Temperament → Breed-specific requirements → Final Classification.
- No dog is surveyed until its identity (registration, microchip/tattoo, catalogue number, name, owner) is confirmed.
Classification
- Recommended for Breeding, Recommended with Observations, or Not Recommended (additional classifications may apply per breed).
- A detailed written report and an official KCP Breed Survey Certificate are produced and attached permanently to the dog's profile.
KCP Points System
A Breed Survey is a breeding evaluation, not a competition — it does not award points or championship titles.
